Databricks growth outpaces Snowflake's, dbt Fusion support#91 w/e 4 July 2025

This week there was some interesting macroeconomic news we found out about that indicates Databricks are outpacing Snowflake in terms of growth in the new data warehousing product.

What is interesting is the Databricks architecture of creating the virtuous metadata circle (c.f. Unity Catalog) and building systems like agents around that is paying divideneds.

We also saw dbt announce support for Fusion for BigQuery. Congratulations dbt Team!
